Breast feeding reduces child death

There was a seminar on breast feeding, organized by Bangladesh Breast Feeding Foundation in the seminar hall of Mohakhali Human Health and Nutrition Organization.

** The Speakers told that about 31% of neonatal death can be reduced if the child is given breast milk within an hour of the birth of the child.

** Up to 6 month, if the child is given only breast milk, it may reduce the death rate of below 5 years children up to 13 %.

** Moreover from 6 months to 2 years if the child is given breast milk along with other foods, death rate of children may be reduced up to 6%.

** Basically child death in 3rd world country is reducing but not in the expected ratio.

** People need to know and feed the child accordingly.Your child may not tell you what exactly it is to be given but it is you who should know and do it to save your child. Of course it is your own.
